Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 — Mangesh Sathe has been appointed as Chief Strategy Officer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), marking a pivotal milestone as the company sharpens its focus on artificial intelligence, consulting-led transformation, and long-term strategic alignment.
Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Tata Strategic Management Group, Sathe will officially assume his new responsibilities at TCS this month. His mandate will include leading the Global Consulting Practice, driving strategic planning, overseeing Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), and aligning enterprise-wide priorities to foster innovation and accelerate business growth. This newly created role reflects TCS’s intensified efforts to revitalize its consulting capabilities amid an AI-driven digital disruption sweeping the global IT and services landscape.
Sathe brings with him over two decades of rich and diverse leadership experience across strategy consulting, transformation, and enterprise growth. Prior to Tata Group, he held significant roles at leading consulting firms, including serving as Principal at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he specialized in enterprise transformation and long-range strategic planning. He was also part of the India leadership team at PRTM Management Consultants, where he was instrumental in establishing a successful practice and was honored with the prestigious Ted Pittiglio Award for Leadership and Professional Achievement.
His early career at Tata Administrative Services (TAS) involved multi-faceted leadership roles across various Tata companies, including TCS, Tata Motors, and Tata Chemicals, where he spearheaded critical product management and marketing initiatives. Sathe began his career as an engineer with Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, working across core operations, procurement, and pioneering e-commerce initiatives.
With his appointment, TCS is set to leverage Sathe’s strategic acumen and cross-industry expertise to enhance organizational synergy, deepen client advisory capabilities, and catalyze AI-led business transformation. His leadership will be instrumental in driving future-ready solutions and reinforcing TCS’s position as a global leader in IT services and consulting.
