Manish Kainth Appointed as CHRO at Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, July 2025 – Manish Kainth has joined Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the company’s HR strategy and initiatives across global operations, focusing on talent transformation, organizational development, and future-ready HR practices.

Prior to joining Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Manish Kainth was with Tata Consumer Products for over 10 years, where he held several leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President – HR, where he led key talent and transformation initiatives. Earlier, he was Head HR for International Business, based in the United Kingdom, and also held positions as Senior Vice President HR, Vice President HR, and GM-HR, contributing to the growth of global talent programs and business HR alignment.

Before his tenure at Tata Consumer Products, Manish worked at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare as GM – Human Resources, focusing on talent management, leadership development, and organizational capability building.

He also held the position of Vice President – Human Resources at HSBC, and earlier served as GM-HR at IBM, where he led strategic HR functions in a dynamic technology environment.

Manish began his HR journey at Hindustan Unilever Limited, where he spent over six years in factory and branch HR roles. He started his career as an Engineer at Tata Motors, giving him a strong foundation in operations before transitioning to HR leadership.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
