Michigan, United States, May 2025 – Henry Ford Health has appointed Marc Ahlquist as Vice President, Human Resources – East Region, where he will lead HR strategy and operations across several acute care hospitals in Southeast Michigan. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in healthcare and corporate HR leadership, Marc brings deep experience in talent development, labor relations, and organizational transformation.
Marc joins this role after contributing to multiple regional and national organizations through his commitment to employee engagement, operational excellence, and people-centric leadership. At Henry Ford Health, he is expected to play a key role in enhancing HR capabilities and workforce alignment across the East Region.
Before stepping into his current role, Marc Ahlquist served as Vice President of Human Resources at Health Alliance Plan for approximately 3.5 years, where he was instrumental in aligning HR strategy with enterprise business goals. He led change initiatives, organizational restructuring, and programs that enhanced employee experience across the insurance provider’s operations in Michigan.
Earlier, Marc spent about 3 years as Director of Human Resources at Credit Acceptance, focusing on HR planning, performance management, and building a strong workplace culture. He was also Director of Human Resources – Corporate Services at Beaumont Health, where he guided HR practices across corporate departments, driving talent alignment and operational improvement.
Marc’s longest tenure was with Kelly Services, where he served in progressive leadership roles for over 16 years, including Senior Director, Corporate Human Resources, and Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition (Interim). He led HR operations for global employees and supported enterprise-wide talent acquisition initiatives. He also previously held leadership positions as HR Director for Kelly’s PEO division in San Diego, and HR Manager for Oakwood Healthcare Inc., gaining critical experience across both unionized and non-unionized environments.
His early career included stints at Healthsource Saginaw, Marquette County Medical Care Facility, and as HR Specialist at Henry Ford Health System, where he began his professional journey.
