North Chicago, Illinois, United States, April 2025 – Maria Luiza Nunes Bueno has taken on the role of Head of Human Resources, Latin America – Allergan Aesthetics at AbbVie, bringing with her over 15 years of strategic and regional HR experience. In her new capacity, Maria Luiza will lead the LATAM HR function across Allergan Aesthetics, a key business segment for AbbVie, driving talent strategies, organizational transformation, and people-focused solutions across the region.
Maria Luiza has been with AbbVie for nearly 12 years, progressing through a series of impactful roles. Most recently, she served as Associate Director, Total Rewards US Commercial/Global HQ, where she led compensation and benefits strategy aligned to AbbVie’s global operations and commercial goals.
Prior to that, she served as Total Rewards LATAM Head, based in North Chicago, and before that, as Total Rewards Regional Manager for Central & South America from São Paulo, where she managed compensation and benefits across Brazil, the South Cone, Andes, and Central America. Earlier roles included Total Rewards Manager for Brazil & South Region and Process Coordinator, where she was involved in corporate strategic planning and innovation using Design Thinking.
She began her career in HR with Merck, gaining experience in shared services, compensation & benefits, and HR operations. Her early career also included HR roles with Sanofi, where she worked on expatriate management and HR Information Systems.
