In addition to his new appointment, Mario Bortoli has been serving as Managing Director at SIEL for nearly seven years, where he has actively advised and invested in high-growth domains such as FinTech, RegTech, Crypto Assets, Asset Management, and Financial Machine Learning. His role at SIEL has positioned him at the intersection of technology and finance, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across the European financial landscape.

Previously, he held a senior advisor role at CheckSig, a security-first crypto custody and management platform, and briefly worked with Antler in venture development, strengthening his connections to startup ecosystems in London and beyond. His strategic and board-level expertise was also honed during his four-year tenure at Euclidea, where he served as Founder, CEO, and Board Member, helping build one of Milan’s first WealthTech ventures focused on democratizing investment access.

Bortoli’s earlier career includes nearly seven years as Head of MultiManager Investments at Fideuram Investimenti SGR, and senior leadership roles at Eurizon, where he served as General Manager and Chief Investment Officer. His earlier appointments include CIO at Sanpaolo Alternative Investments, and strategic positions in risk management, financial engineering, and quantitative analysis at firms like Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.

He holds an MSc in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University, equipping him with a solid quantitative foundation that continues to shape his forward-thinking leadership.
