Sydney, New South Wales, Australia – October 2024 – Matt Jenkins has been appointed as the Director of People & Operations at Applejack Hospitality, a Sydney-based restaurant group known for its innovative hospitality experiences. In his new role, Matt will drive the company’s HR strategies, talent management, and operational excellence across its diverse venues, furthering Applejack’s mission to craft extraordinary hospitality experiences.
Matt has been a key member of Applejack Hospitality for over six years. Prior to this role, he served as the Director of People & Culture, where he led employee engagement, recruitment, and strategic development initiatives across Applejack’s venues for nearly two years.
Before that, Matt held the role of Group Human Resources Manager, where he managed the full HR function, including recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning, and wellness programs. His tenure also included roles as Talent Acquisition & HR Manager and Talent Acquisition Manager, contributing significantly to building a high-performing team at Applejack.
Prior to joining Applejack, Matt worked at Overseas Chef Placement (OCP) as an HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition Expert, & Business Development Manager, supporting international recruitment solutions for Australia’s hospitality sector. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Hospoworld Resourcing Australia as a NSW Recruitment Consultant & Account Manager, IRIS Hotel Group as a Licensee, and Catalyst Hospitality Management as an Operations Manager.
