Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom – October 2024 – Matthew Hatton has joined Secure Trust Bank as the new Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, he will be responsible for leading the bank’s IT strategy and managing its digital transformation efforts, ensuring robust IT infrastructure and service delivery across the group.
Prior to his appointment at Secure Trust Bank, Matthew Hatton served as IT Director at V12 Retail Finance Limited for nearly 18 years. During his tenure, he was instrumental in managing the IT infrastructure of the UK’s only specialist provider of retail point-of-sale credit. He oversaw the development and implementation of the company’s online paperless processing system, significantly enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
Before his time at V12 Retail Finance Limited, Matthew held the position of IT Director at V-12 Finance Limited, an internet-based finance company. In this role, he led the IT team, overseeing the company’s online finance application systems. His leadership was key to maintaining cutting-edge IT systems and services, which contributed to the company’s rapid growth in the digital finance sector.
Earlier in his career, Matthew founded Blackwire Technologies, a web development and network support company. He built customized websites for clients in diverse sectors, including finance, IT, and real estate. His entrepreneurial venture laid the foundation for his expertise in IT development and management, demonstrating his commitment to innovation and technology-driven solutions.
Matthew’s career began at Scan Computers International Ltd, where he worked as a Technician while attending university. His role involved building systems, technical support, and technical sales, providing him with a solid foundation in IT operations and customer service.
