Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 2024 – GreenEarthX is excited to welcome Meher Afroz as the new Chief Technology Officer. Previously the Chief of Staff and Leader of the Platform Engineering team at Microsoft, Meher brings extensive experience and a commitment to sustainability, aligning perfectly with GreenEarthX’s mission to advance the Green Hydrogen ecosystem.
Meher Afroz joins GreenEarthX after an impressive career at Microsoft, where she held several key roles over nearly 11 years. Most recently, she was the Partner Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft’s India Development Center, leading core platform engineering teams responsible for various critical business areas. Her leadership was instrumental in driving digital transformation and building engineering excellence across multiple global locations.
Prior to this role, Meher served as Chief of Staff, Strategic Enterprise Services IT at Microsoft in Seattle. In this position, she managed strategy, investment, portfolio planning, and operational excellence, overseeing a large multi-discipline organization.
Earlier in her career at Microsoft, Meher held the position of General Manager, where she built high-performing engineering teams and led several innovative programs, including PidNext and OEM Activation 3.0. She was also an Executive Sponsor of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, launching programs such as DigiGirlz and Code for Her to promote interest in technology among women.
Before her tenure at Microsoft, Meher worked at General Electric (GE) as a Center of Excellence Leader, where she led technology projects and graduated from GE’s Experienced Information Management Program. She began her career as an Analyst/Programmer at Tata Steel and later worked as a Project Manager at Keane Inc.
