Cebu City, Philippines, March 2025 – Mia Carmela Magsaysay-Cuenco has taken on the role of Director for People and Culture at Smartsourcing, where she will lead HR strategy, employee experience, and organizational development initiatives.
Mia Carmela brings extensive HR leadership and consultancy experience across global and Philippine-based organizations. Most recently, she was Director at Dover Business Services, where she oversaw HR operations in a hybrid work environment. Before this, she served as Global Manager for Human Resources, contributing to the company’s people strategy and talent management efforts.
Prior to her tenure at Dover Business Services, Mia Carmela worked at Amazon Operation Services Philippines, Inc., where she held multiple leadership roles, including Human Resources Manager and Senior HR Business Partner. During her four-year tenure, she played a crucial role in workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee engagement strategies. Earlier in her career, she served as Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Administration at Carmen Copper Corporation, where she led HR transformation and compliance initiatives.
Her career journey also includes key HR leadership roles at Visayan Electric Company, Inc., Energizer Philippines, Inc., and the Department of Labor & Employment, giving her a comprehensive background in labor relations, compliance, and strategic HR development. Mia Carmela’s expertise in HR leadership, employee relations, and organizational development will be instrumental in driving Smartsourcing’s people strategy and workplace culture.
