Michael Scuria has recently taken on the role of Chief People Officer at Essen Health Care, based in the Bronx, New York. This appointment, effective April 2024, marks a significant step in his extensive career in human resources and organizational leadership.
Scuria brings over 30 years of experience to his new position at Essen Health Care. Prior to this role, he served as Senior Vice President of People & Culture at the same organization, where he was pivotal in shaping the company’s culture and people management strategies. His professional journey also includes a long tenure at Bed Bath & Beyond, where he was the Director of People & Culture for buybuyBABY’s U.S and Canada retail operations from February 2000 until April 2023. During his 23 years there, Scuria was instrumental in leading HR initiatives that significantly contributed to the company’s retail success across North America.
Before his impactful role at Bed Bath & Beyond, Scuria was the Customer Service Manager at Giant Food from August 1991 to January 2000. Here, he held multiple roles across store operations, training and development, and human resources, demonstrating his versatile skill set and leadership capabilities.
