BOSTON and MONTREAL — enGene Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: ENGN), a pioneering clinical-stage genetic medicines company, announced that Dr. Raj Pruthi has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Urologic Oncology and Clinical Development.
Dr. Pruthi, a respected physician-scientist with over 25 years of experience in urology, will report to enGene’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Richard Bryce.

He is a renowned physician-scientist with over 25 years’ experience in the urology space,” remarked Jason Hanson, CEO of enGene. “With a track record of leadership and engagement within the urology community, such as his service on the committee to help develop the American Urological Association’s guidelines on management of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, we believe Dr. Pruthi will be a strong addition to our team as we continue our LEGEND study of EG-70 in both BCG-unresponsive and BCG-naïve NMIBC patients and consider expansion of EG-70 into additional urologic indications.”
Prior to joining enGene, Dr. Pruthi served as the Global Medical Affairs Leader, Bladder Cancer and Senior Medical Director, Oncology at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. He was instrumental in leading efforts related to the Electronics & Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Division at ZF Group and has an extensive background in managing large projects that drive technological and medical advancements.
Dr. Pruthi expressed his enthusiasm about joining enGene, stating, “This is an exciting time to join enGene. I believe that the EG-70 safety and efficacy data in BCG-unresponsive NMIBC shown to date are highly encouraging and suggest that this product candidate has the potential to become an important medicine that is utilized broadly across the continuum of bladder care.”
In addition to his new role at enGene, Dr. Pruthi holds multiple leadership positions within the medical community, including Chair of the Advisory Council for Urology of the American College of Surgeons and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Urology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University/Northwell. His previous academic roles include Professor and Chair at the UCSF Department of Urology and the Department of Urology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Pruthi completed his medical and post-graduate training at Duke University School of Medicine and Stanford University, respectively, and holds a Master’s of Health Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
