Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, May 2026 — Guidance Tamil Nadu has welcomed Mr. Deepak Jacob, IAS, who has taken charge as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership appointment at the Government of Tamil Nadu’s nodal agency for investment promotion and single-window facilitation.
Before joining Guidance Tamil Nadu, Deepak Jacob served as Director at the Commissionerate of Survey, where he contributed to administrative leadership and governance functions in Tamil Nadu.
Prior to this, he served as Managing Director at Co-optex Handlooms, where he led one of Tamil Nadu’s prominent handloom institutions. He also served as District Collector in Thanjavur and Krishnagiri, strengthening district administration, public service delivery, and governance execution.
Earlier, he held leadership roles as Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Limited, Project Director at TANSACS, Joint Chief Electoral Officer at the Election Commission of India, and Managing Director at Vellore Co-operative Sugar Mills.
His administrative journey also includes service as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Tuticorin, while his early professional career began as a Software Engineer at Huawei. With his broad governance experience across healthcare, elections, district administration, textiles, cooperative institutions, and investment facilitation, Jacob brings strong administrative depth to Guidance Tamil Nadu.
