Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, December 2024 – Michelle East has taken on the role of Head of People and Culture at UOW Pulse Ltd, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching student life at the University of Wollongong. In her new role, Michelle will lead the organization’s HR and culture strategies, driving initiatives to support staff and enhance the overall student experience across on-shore campuses.
Before joining UOW Pulse Ltd, Michelle served as Manager People Talent at The Disability Trust, where she led a team of nine HR professionals in workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding, significantly enhancing talent management processes during her tenure.
Michelle’s extensive HR experience includes her role as Human Resources Manager – Shoalhaven Starches at Manildra Group, where she led initiatives to improve workplace culture, implemented reward and recognition programs, and introduced streamlined HR processes across the organization.
Her earlier roles at The Disability Trust include Employment Relations Manager, People and Culture Coordinator, and Workplace Relations Specialist, where she focused on performance management, conflict resolution, and culture development.
Additionally, Michelle has held HR leadership roles at organizations like Kollaras Trading Company and STAUFF Corporation, showcasing her ability to manage HR functions, drive cultural change, and support organizational growth.
