Corning, New York, United States, November 2025 — Michelle Gullo has taken on the role of SVP & Chief Human Resources Officer at Corning Incorporated, marking a significant leadership elevation within the organisation. With more than a decade of experience shaping Corning’s global people strategy, she now leads enterprise-wide HR priorities to support the company’s innovation-driven growth across multiple business sectors worldwide.
Before her appointment as SVP & Chief Human Resources Officer, Gullo served for approximately 14 years as Division Vice President Human Resources, Corporate Staffs, Science, Technology and Engineering at Corning Incorporated. In this senior role, she supported corporate functions including Finance, Legal, IT, HR, Strategy, Communications, Government Affairs, Aviation, and Global Security. She led a team of 10 direct reports and played a critical part in expanding global practice areas from 1,500 to 5,500 employees, while also driving human capital planning, recruitment strategies, succession planning, and initiatives that strengthened employee engagement—especially for women in leadership.
Prior to joining Corning, Gullo built a robust foundation over nearly 15 years at IBM, where she held multiple HR leadership roles across the United States and global regions. As Human Resources Leader, she managed a team of 11 direct reports across seven Midwestern locations supporting more than 9,000 employees. She also led a global HR team supporting 4,000 employees across Israel, Germany, and India. Her responsibilities spanned employee relations, discrimination investigations, workplace safety, performance management, career development, and succession planning for senior executives.
Throughout her career at IBM, Gullo worked extensively on executive development frameworks, large-scale HR operations, cross-cultural team leadership, and organisation-wide people programs—experience that continues to influence her strategic leadership approach.
Earlier in her professional journey, Gullo developed a strong HR and organisational understanding through progressive responsibilities at IBM, contributing across multiple teams, stakeholders, and regions. The breadth of her early experience laid the foundation for her later success in leading global HR initiatives, executive talent processes, and cultural transformation efforts.
In addition to her extensive corporate experience, Gullo is academically grounded with a degree from Simmons University, strengthening her foundational understanding of leadership, people management, and organisational effectiveness.
