Lusaka, Zambia, Africa, September 2025 – Mwansa Mumba-Chibowa has been appointed as Head of Human Resources at UBA Zambia, marking an important step in her distinguished career in human capital management, organizational development, and industrial relations.
Mwansa joined UBA Zambia in 2023, where she served as Country Industrial Relations | Learner Partner, overseeing industrial relations, performance management, and strategic HR support. In this role, she was instrumental in fostering strong employee relations and driving initiatives that strengthened workplace engagement and compliance across the organization.
Prior to joining UBA, Mwansa spent nearly a decade with the Judiciary of Zambia, where she progressed through multiple leadership roles. She began as a Human Resource Management Officer, later becoming Human Resource Development Officer, and ultimately rising to Senior Human Resource Management Officer. During her tenure, she played a vital role in talent development, training programs, and implementing effective HR strategies to support the institution’s operations.
Her career began at Standard Chartered Bank as a Customer Service Representative, giving her early exposure to customer engagement and organizational processes within the financial sector. Mwansa has also contributed to the broader HR community in Zambia, currently serving as Publicity Secretary – ZIWON at the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM), where she advocates for professional development and knowledge sharing among HR practitioners.
With her deep expertise in strategic human resource planning, performance management, and industrial relations, Mwansa is set to lead UBA Zambia’s people agenda, strengthening its culture of innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.
