Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, March 2026 — Marissa Black has started a new position as Chief People Officer at Easygo. Based in Melbourne, she has been appointed to partner with the CEO and executive team to drive a global people transformation, with a focus on building scalable, contemporary people practices and capabilities that align strategy with execution to unlock value creation.
In this role, Marissa Black is focused on leading a full people and culture remit and a team of 50+ in a fast-paced technology environment, supporting Easygo’s next phase of growth and globalisation. Sharing her perspective, she noted that her focus is building a scalable, contemporary and “edgy” suite of people practices and capabilities to support business outcomes.
Prior to joining Easygo, she served at Origin Energy as General Manager Talent, where she was promoted to establish the organization’s first enterprise-wide end-to-end talent function. Her remit included developing strategic clarity on attracting, identifying, developing, mobilising and retaining critical capability, and partnering with the CEO, CFO and executive team to embed a data-driven approach to workforce planning, succession and talent management aligned to the execution of Origin’s 2030 strategic plan.
Earlier, Marissa Black held senior roles at Origin Energy across people and transformation mandates. She served as General Manager Transformational Initiatives, supporting the business through transaction readiness and large corporate services transformation, and earlier as General Manager, Capability & Culture, where she led enterprise people and culture priorities and a multi-disciplinary team across centers of excellence.
Before that, she was Head of HR Retail & Recruitment at Origin Energy, partnering with retail leadership to execute a people strategy and leading recruitment and contracting operations. She previously served as Senior People & Culture Manager for Energy Markets, supporting change programs and business partnership across trading, risk, strategy and commercial leadership.
Earlier in her career, Marissa Black worked as Head of Human Resources at Saputo Inc. in Melbourne and served as Lead HR Business Partner at Bankwest, where she led national HR business partnering and people strategy. She began her journey at Vanguard Australia as a Human Resources Associate.
