Anjar, Gujarat, India, March 2025 — Nagendra Kumar Singh has joined Welspun Corp Limited as General Manager, bringing with him over 30 years of leadership experience in the steel and infrastructure sectors. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving operational excellence, quality assurance, and strategic transformation, further strengthening Welspun Corp’s position as a global leader in infrastructure and line pipe solutions.
Prior to this, Singh served as Principal at Tata Steel Foundation, where he led community and development-focused initiatives while aligning them with broader industrial goals. This followed a remarkable 28-year tenure at Tata Steel, where he rose through the ranks from a Technical Apprentice to the role of Manager, handling a range of responsibilities in raw materials management, procurement, planning, quality control, and strategy execution. His hands-on leadership across multiple departments helped optimize operational workflows and enhance productivity at one of India’s largest integrated steel producers.
In parallel with his corporate journey, Singh has contributed to the academic domain as a Part-time Lecturer at Government Polytechnic Adityapur, underlining his commitment to nurturing the next generation of engineering professionals. His diverse skill set includes strategy formulation, customer engagement, technical training, quality assurance, and metallurgical analysis, making him a well-rounded asset in any engineering or operations-intensive environment.
Singh holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rabindranath Tagore University, an M.Tech in Production Engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, and an MBA in Human Resource Management from IGNOU. This multidisciplinary academic foundation supports his deep industry knowledge and ability to manage complex technical and human capital challenges.
