BOSTON – March 26, 2024 – Nasuni, a frontrunner in hybrid cloud storage solutions, today announced a strategic enhancement to its leadership team with the appointment of Michael Sotnick as Senior Vice President of Business and Corporate Development.
Sotnick is entrusted with steering Nasuni’s global partnerships, including key collaborations with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud, alongside fostering new strategic technology alliances.
With an impressive career spanning over 30 years in senior partnership roles across various sectors including data infrastructure, security, management, and cloud, Sotnick brings a wealth of experience to Nasuni. Prior to this new role, he played a pivotal part in Pure Storage’s exponential growth, contributing to its rise from $400 million to $3 billion in revenue.
David Grant, President of Nasuni, highlighted the importance of partnerships in Nasuni’s growth strategy and expressed confidence in Sotnick’s ability to contribute to the company’s future successes. “Partners are core to Nasuni’s success. Michael’s long tenure at Pure Storage disrupting the legacy storage industry is very similar to our approach of disrupting legacy NAS with a cloud-based approach,” Grant stated. He further emphasized Nasuni’s significant growth in 2023, including a 46% increase in new customer bookings and a 30% year-over-year increase in ARR.
Sotnick’s career also includes key positions at VERITAS, SAP, Quest Software, and Moovweb, showcasing his ability to build and scale partnerships effectively.
Expressing his excitement about the new role, Sotnick remarked, “I am thrilled to be joining Nasuni’s leadership team at this stage of the company’s growth.” He acknowledged Nasuni’s innovative approach to addressing data challenges and the potential for deeper partner integration.
Nasuni’s momentum is further bolstered by strategic appointments and promotions within the company, including Russ Kennedy as Chief Evangelist and Nick Burling as Senior Vice President of Product. The company also celebrated significant achievements in FY23, such as the addition of over 120 new enterprise customers, the launch of Nasuni Edge for Amazon S3, and a transformative partnership with Cegal in the energy sector, driving a 235% growth for Nasuni year over year.
