Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, December 2025 — Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center has announced the appointment of Nicholas Johnson as Chief Executive Officer. In his new role, Johnson will lead the organization’s strategic, clinical and operational priorities, strengthening patient care delivery, service-line excellence and community impact across Las Vegas and the surrounding Southwest and Summerlin communities.
At Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, Nicholas Johnson has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, bringing deep operational, clinical and leadership experience across major U.S. healthcare systems. His appointment reflects the hospital’s continued focus on advancing quality, safety and patient-centered care.
Previously, at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, Johnson served as Chief Operating Officer and earlier as Vice President Operations, where he led hospital-wide operations, clinical performance improvement initiatives, service line optimization and operational excellence programs across acute care services.
Prior to this, at HCA Healthcare, he held leadership roles as Vice President Surgical Services and Director, Perioperative Services, where he oversaw large perioperative and surgical service portfolios, strengthened care quality, patient throughput and operational performance across complex multi-service hospital environments.
Earlier, at Memorial Hermann Health System, Johnson served as Clinical Manager, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, advancing specialized surgical program management, clinical workflow optimization and multidisciplinary team leadership.
He began his healthcare career at Riverside Community Hospital, progressing through roles including Clinical Coordinator, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, Registered Nurse CVOR, and Surgical Technologist CVOR, building strong clinical and operational foundations. His early career also includes surgical leadership roles at Alamo City Cardiovascular Surgery Group and Baptist Medical Center, supporting complex cardiothoracic surgical programs.
Nicholas Johnson holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington, strengthening his executive healthcare leadership foundation.
