Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2025 — Niranjan Gupta has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, marking a significant return to the company where he began his professional journey. His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the FMCG leader, as it continues to navigate evolving market dynamics with a focus on governance, innovation, and long-term value creation. Known for his people-first leadership philosophy rooted in the “3Es” — Enable, Empower, and Energize — Gupta has consistently built high-performing teams and driven sustainable growth.
Gupta rejoins Hindustan Unilever after an illustrious career spanning global finance and corporate leadership. He spent two decades at Unilever, holding roles in finance and supply chain across India and international markets. His leadership included serving as Global Finance Director for Household Care and Hair Category, where he oversaw multi-billion euro portfolios, and as Chief Procurement Officer for South Asia, managing large-scale procurement and supply chain operations. His early years at Hindustan Lever Limited saw him lead finance for Modern Foods post-acquisition and drive P&L performance for new ventures.
In 2014, he joined Vedanta Group as CFO of Aluminium & Power, where he played a central role in strengthening financial structures and driving strategic initiatives in one of the group’s largest verticals.
Gupta transitioned to Hero MotoCorp in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer before being elevated to Chief Executive Officer in 2023. As CEO, he steered the company to record revenues and profitability, while launching the strategic framework “House of Strategy – HOS 2030.” Under his leadership, Hero MotoCorp accelerated its focus on premium motorcycles and electric vehicles, with the “4S mantra” of Speed, Scale, Synergy, and Simplification guiding its transformation.
Beyond his corporate roles, Gupta has held board positions at Ather Energy, HMCMM, and HMCL Colombia, deepening his expertise in electric mobility, auto components, and international operations.
