Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, September 2025 — Nitin Parekh has been appointed as President (Special Projects) at Zydus Lifesciences (Zydus Group). This new role marks a significant transition after more than 16 years as Chief Financial Officer of the group, where he was instrumental in steering the company’s financial strategy, governance, and long-term value creation.
With a distinguished career anchored in finance and leadership, Parekh has been a central contributor to Zydus’ growth journey and global expansion over the last decade and a half. His move into the President (Special Projects) role underlines his continued association with the group, where he will now focus on strategic initiatives and special assignments that will shape Zydus’ future direction.
Before taking on this new role, Parekh served as Chief Financial Officer at Zydus Group, overseeing finance, IT, and legal functions at the group level. His responsibilities spanned accounts, audit, banking, taxation, MIS, resource mobilisation, company secretarial duties, treasury management, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. He played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s balance sheet, driving efficiency, and enabling large-scale transformation projects.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Parekh earned his MBA in Finance with distinction. He is also a Chartered Accountant, having secured top ranks in both Inter and Final CA examinations at the national level, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with a first rank in India in Group-E of the final exams. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce from H L College of Commerce and a Bachelor of Law from Navgujarat Law College.
Parekh has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Best CFO Award for Healthcare Sector in 2012 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the CA CFO Award (Healthcare Sector) in 2017 from ICAI. He has also received the H L Achiever Award for his industry contributions. In addition to his formal qualifications, he has pursued executive education, including a Digital Transformation program with EMERITUS & MIT and a General Management Course at IIM Ahmedabad, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning.
