Gauteng, South Africa, January 2026 — Momentum Group Limited has announced the appointment of Njabulo Nyawo as Group Chief People Executive, strengthening its people and culture leadership as the Group continues to advance its federated, purpose-led growth strategy. In this role, Njabulo Nyawo will lead the organisation’s people strategy with a focus on culture, inclusivity, capability building, employee experience and engagement, and employee governance—ensuring that people initiatives remain closely aligned with business strategy.
With over two decades of experience across banking and insurance, Njabulo Nyawo brings deep strategic insight and a proven track record in leading large-scale transformation, rewards strategy, and enterprise financial governance.
Prior to his elevation, Njabulo served as Group Reward Head at Momentum Group Limited for over three years, where he led group-wide total rewards strategies, executive compensation frameworks, and investor-facing reward governance.
Before joining Momentum, he spent more than twelve years at Standard Bank Group, holding senior leadership roles including Executive Head: Reward, Africa Regions, Executive: Financial Insights Lead – CIB, Africa, Head of MI: Rest of Africa Global Markets Finance, and Head: Group Regulatory Reporting. Across these roles, he led regulatory reporting, financial governance, capital management, and rewards strategy initiatives across multiple African markets.
He has also served in non-executive capacities as Trustee and Board Committee Member at PPS and Bankmed, and as a Non-Executive Audit Committee Member at the Office of the Chief Justice (Constitutional Court), bringing strong board-level governance experience.
Njabulo Nyawo is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA-SA) and holds an MBA in Finance from Heriot-Watt University.
