Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, May 2025 – Omer Ahmad has been elevated to the role of Chief People Officer – Pakistan & Regional Director HR COE at Daraz, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey with the South Asia-based e-commerce leader. In this expanded role, Omer will spearhead people strategy across Pakistan while overseeing the Human Resources Centre of Excellence for all Daraz markets.
Over the past year, Omer held the position of Director of Organization Design, HR Systems and Analytics at Daraz. He was responsible for a broad portfolio covering organization transformation, rewards and performance systems, HR technology, payroll, and people analytics across all operating geographies, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Myanmar.
Before that, Omer led strategic HR initiatives as Regional Head of Strategic Projects, where he successfully implemented SAP SuccessFactors across Daraz Group, impacting a workforce of over 15,000. His efforts also introduced a semi-automated capacity planning model, significantly improving staffing efficiency and cost forecasting across the organization.
Omer previously managed the Cross-Border Operations function, overseeing a $70 million shipping ecosystem with monthly deliveries exceeding 600,000 parcels. Earlier roles at Daraz include Regional Manager for Fulfillment Planning and Regional Manager for Cross-Border Operations, where he contributed to logistics optimization and business strategy development.
Before joining Daraz, Omer worked with Posidon Pvt Ltd as a Business Analyst, applying his skills in logistics and process improvement. He also served as Assistant Manager – Market Research at Al-Hamd International Container Terminal, where he contributed to data-led decision-making in the maritime logistics space.
