Calgary, Alberta, Canada, September 2025 — Orson Ross, CPA, CA has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Western Energy Services Corp., a leading oilfield services company operating across Canada and the United States. In his new role, Orson will oversee the company’s financial operations, capital management, and support its continued growth in drilling, well servicing, and rental services.
Orson joins Western after serving as Chief Financial Officer at Cleantek Industries Inc. (TSXV: CTEK) for four years, where he successfully guided financial strategy and governance during a pivotal growth phase. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Finance at mCloud Technologies Corp., and earlier at Dexterra and Horizon North Logistics, where he provided leadership in financial planning and reporting.
Previously, Orson held senior finance positions at Source Energy Services and TransAlta, where he led finance transformation initiatives. He also served in various leadership capacities at Chemtrade Electrochem Inc. (formerly Canexus Corporation), including as Treasurer, Director of Taxation, and Director of Financial Reporting & Risk Management.
Earlier in his career, Orson spent over six years at Suncor Energy, advancing through roles such as Director of Consolidations and Management Reporting, Senior Advisor in ERP process and technology projects, and Senior Advisor Disclosure. He began his financial reporting career at Talisman Energy, before starting in audit and assurance with PwC, where he worked with leading energy sector clients.
