Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2025 – P D Singh has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered India, bringing over two decades of experience in banking, financial services, and corporate banking leadership. With a strong track record in business expansion, client relationship management, and strategic banking solutions, he is well-positioned to drive Standard Chartered India’s growth agenda.
Before joining Standard Chartered India, P D Singh served as CEO of JPMorgan Chase India, where he played a crucial role in expanding corporate banking operations and strengthening the firm’s market presence. During his 15-year tenure at JPMorgan Chase, he held leadership roles in corporate banking, including Managing Director of Corporate Banking and Executive Director of Corporate Banking, contributing significantly to the bank’s financial growth and cross-border banking initiatives.
Prior to JPMorgan Chase, he spent a decade at HSBC, where he held multiple senior positions such as Country Head of Corporate Banking India – Large Local Corporates, Head of Corporate Banking for Western & Southern India, and Senior Relationship Manager. His strategic leadership was pivotal in expanding the mid-market and commercial banking segments and enhancing risk management strategies.
Earlier in his career, P D Singh was associated with Global Trust Bank, where he held the position of Branch Manager at Cuffe Parade, Mumbai, overseeing both retail and corporate banking operations.
P D Singh holds dual MBAs from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, specializing in Finance and Marketing. He also earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Production from the University of Poona, equipping him with technical and analytical expertise that complement his financial leadership.
