Pallavi Gera Appointed as India Lead - People Business Partner at CBRE

CBRE, a global leader in real estate services, has announced Pallavi Gera as its new India Lead – People Business Partner. Based in Gurugram, Haryana, Gera has taken on the role from March 2024, bringing with her over 13 years of comprehensive experience in strategic HR business partnering, talent risk mitigation, and the development of high-impact people strategies.

Gera’s professional journey is marked by her role as Corporate HR Lead (Deputy General Manager) at DCM Shriram LTD, where she played a dual role of Senior HR Business Partner for group functions and Lead – Talent & Learning CoE. Her efforts there significantly contributed to the enhancement of diversity, employee engagement, and the conceptualization of a potential assessment framework, among other achievements.

Prior to her tenure at DCM Shriram LTD, Gera held key positions at HT Media Ltd as an Assistant General Manager, where she was instrumental in leading HR initiatives for an employee base of over 2500 across various domains. Her strategic input led to the development of technical academies and innovative HR policies that significantly improved employee engagement and organizational efficiency.

Gera’s early career includes significant roles at Reliance, where she designed and led the implementation of a new Talent Management Framework, and at HCL Technologies, where she revamped employee assessment and analytics processes. Her educational background, coupled with a strong skill set in HR transformation, business partnering, and strategic leadership, positions her as a formidable leader in CBRE’s People Business Partner team.

CBRE stands to benefit greatly from Gera’s expertise and leadership, especially in its efforts to drive business transformation across HR processes and the employee lifecycle. Her role will be pivotal in fostering innovation, expanding market reach, and cultivating valuable partnerships to propel CBRE forward in the Indian market.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
