Greater Delhi Area, India, October 2024 – Pankaj Sharma has joined APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. as the new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In his new role, Pankaj will oversee the company’s HR strategy, focusing on talent management, leadership development, and driving organizational culture to support APL Apollo Tubes’ growth and innovation. His extensive experience in HR management will be pivotal in enhancing the company’s employee engagement, workforce productivity, and strategic HR initiatives.

Prior to Rockman Industries, Pankaj spent over five years at ANAND Group India, where he held multiple senior roles, including Sr. Vice President & Head of Group Human Resources. During his tenure at ANAND Group, Pankaj led the HR operations for the group, focusing on HR strategy, succession planning, and building a high-potential leadership pipeline. He also played a key role in promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives across the organization.

Pankaj also held a leadership position at MAHLE, where he spent six years as Head of HR, managing the entire HR function and driving leadership development, employee engagement, and talent acquisition. His tenure at MAHLE helped refine his skills in HR operations and strategic HR planning.

Earlier in his career, Pankaj held HR leadership roles at Aircel Limited and Deloitte Consulting, where he was instrumental in driving HR transformation, organization design, and employee engagement programs.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
