Basel, Switzerland, July 2026 — Sandoz has announced a series of senior leadership appointments designed to strengthen its global manufacturing, business development, and regional operations as the company continues its evolution as an independent global leader in generic and biosimilar medicines.
Effective 20 August 2026, Pascal Bouye has been appointed President, Generics Manufacturing & Supply and will join the Sandoz Executive Committee (SEC). He succeeds Glenn Gerecke, who will step down from the Executive Committee and assume a new leadership role within the company.
Pascal brings more than 30 years of international leadership experience in building and transforming highly regulated global supply chains. Prior to joining Sandoz, he held senior leadership positions at Danone and Mars, where he led large-scale operational transformation initiatives, strengthened manufacturing excellence, and drove continuous improvement across complex global operations. His appointment is expected to further enhance operational efficiency, manufacturing scalability, and supply chain resilience across Sandoz’s high-volume generics business.
In another strategic leadership move, Keren Haruvi, currently President, North America, will additionally assume responsibility for Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), effective 1 August 2026, while continuing to lead the North American business. Before joining Sandoz, Keren served as Global Head of M&A at Novartis, where she led major strategic acquisitions, divestitures, and portfolio transformation initiatives. Her expanded mandate reflects Sandoz’s continued focus on disciplined inorganic growth and strategic business development.
The company has also announced important leadership changes within its European operations. Simon Goeller, currently Global Head, Transformation & Growth and a member of the Extended Leadership Team, has been appointed Country President, Germany, one of Sandoz’s largest and most strategically important global markets, effective 1 August 2026.
As part of the same leadership transition, Thomas Weigold, currently Country President, Germany, will become Head, Central Cluster, Europe, while Max Juerging, currently Global Head, Transformation, Integration & Separation, will lead the Transformation & Growth function on an interim basis until a permanent successor for Simon Goeller is appointed.
Commenting on the appointments, Richard Saynor, Chief Executive Officer of Sandoz, said:
“These appointments reflect both the strength of our leadership pipeline and the continued evolution of Sandoz as an independent company. They position us well to capitalise on an unprecedented wave of loss of exclusivity opportunities, our ‘golden decade’, and the significant potential they create to expand patient access to high-quality, affordable medicines.”
He also thanked Glenn Gerecke for his leadership and contributions to Sandoz, expressing confidence in his continued contribution in his new role within the organization.
The appointments reinforce Sandoz’s commitment to strengthening operational excellence, accelerating strategic growth initiatives, expanding global business development capabilities, and deepening leadership across key international markets as the company enters its next phase of growth.
