Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, April 2026 – Patience Mathebula-Okoruwa has stepped into the role of Human Resources Director for Accenture South Africa, marking a significant leadership milestone in her nearly two-decade journey with Accenture. In this role, she will lead the people strategy, focusing on talent development, organizational effectiveness, and building an inclusive, high-performance culture aligned with business growth.
Prior to this appointment, Patience Mathebula-Okoruwa served as Inclusion & Diversity Lead and HR Partner Lead for Strategy & Consulting at Accenture South Africa, where she drove strategic HR initiatives to enhance revenue growth, profitability, and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
Earlier, she held the role of Human Resources Partner Lead – Strategy & Consulting and Industry X (UKIA) at Accenture, where she was responsible for designing and delivering business-aligned human capital strategies, advising leadership on talent and organizational priorities, and ensuring strong HR operational outcomes.
She also served as HR Client Account Lead and Geographic Unit HR Business Partner Lead for the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and Turkey region, where she led HR strategy for large, complex client environments and provided strategic direction across geographies, supporting talent acquisition, development, and retention initiatives at scale.
In earlier roles at Accenture, including People Advisor (HR Business Partner) and Learning & Development, she built deep expertise in employee lifecycle management, leadership coaching, engagement programs, and capability development. Her career began in technical and support roles, providing her with a strong foundation in operational excellence and systems thinking.
