Carlisle, England — Paul Nelson has taken on the role of Head of HR & People at North West Recycling Ltd. With an extensive background in operations management and leadership, Nelson is set to lead and enhance the HR functions at one of the leading waste management providers in the region.
Prior to joining North West Recycling Ltd, Nelson held significant leadership roles at More Handles, a key player in the distribution and retail sector. Most recently, he served as the Managing Director from April 2023 to April 2024, following his roles as Group Operations Director and Group Operations Manager, which spanned from October 2018 to April 2023.
Before his tenure at More Handles, Nelson was the Group General Manager at BorderLoos Event Hire from May 2015 to October 2018, where he was responsible for managing operations and enhancing customer relationships. He initially joined BorderLoos as a Sales Manager in March 2013, bringing his expertise in sales management and customer service to the forefront.
Nelson’s career also includes experience as a Customer Account Manager at BorderLoos and several educational roles as a Teaching Assistant at Cumwhinton School and Richard Rose Central Academy, providing him with a diverse background in both educational and operational capacities.
