Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, September 2024 – Paul Schmidt has taken on a new role as the Head of People & Culture at Dymocks Books, Australia’s largest bookseller. In this position, Paul will oversee human resources strategies, talent management, and employee development across the company’s operations.
Before joining Dymocks Books, Paul served as Senior Human Resources Manager – ANZ at Christian Dior Couture for 2 years, where he managed HR operations for the Australia and New Zealand region. His responsibilities included talent management, employee development, and implementing HR strategies to support the luxury brand’s growth.
Prior to his role at Christian Dior Couture, Paul worked as Human Resources Manager – ANZ at Prada Group for over 2 years, where he partnered with senior management to provide HR support, including training, recruitment, compensation, and benefits for the retail store network and head office.
Paul also held the position of Head of People at M.J. Bale, where he partnered with the CEO and GM to provide strategic and operational HR leadership for the retail network. He has extensive experience in recruitment and HR management, having worked at Fitness First Australia for nearly 6 years, where he progressed from Recruitment Business Partner to HR Business Partner.
Earlier in his career, Paul gained valuable recruitment expertise in senior roles at Randstad Pty Ltd and Hays, where he specialized in human resources and change management recruitment.
