Payal Agrawaal Appointed as Managing Director for India & South Asia at PerkinElmer

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2025 — Payal Agrawaal has been appointed as Managing Director for India & South Asia at PerkinElmer, a global leader in life sciences and laboratory solutions committed to advancing “Science with Purpose.” With a storied history spanning over 85 years, PerkinElmer is known for driving scientific discovery and innovation across the health, food, and environmental sectors. Payal steps into this strategic role to lead the company’s growth and transformation efforts in the South Asia region.

Payal brings with her a unique blend of engineering expertise, strategic consulting, and multinational operational leadership. She most recently served as GM & Country Head for Structural Heart at Abbott, overseeing operations across India, South Asia, and Korea. In this role, she led one of the most innovative portfolios in cardiovascular health, delivering high-impact solutions across diverse and dynamic markets.

Prior to Abbott, she held multiple leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, where she was responsible for Infection Prevention, Cardiovascular, and Emerging Markets businesses across India and neighboring countries. Her contributions spanned business expansion, P&L ownership, industry representation, and the advancement of diversity and inclusion through initiatives such as the Women Leadership Initiative.

Earlier in her career, Payal led strategic roles at IndusInd Bank, including heading the Mega Branches segment and driving branch banking strategy. She also contributed significantly to business transformation projects during her tenure at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she consulted across industries, and gained valuable experience as a software engineer in her early roles at Motorola Mobility and LTI – Larsen & Toubro Infotech.

With this appointment, Payal Agrawaal is set to drive PerkinElmer’s scientific and operational mission across South Asia, enhancing innovation ecosystems, expanding access to lab solutions, and fostering excellence in healthcare, food safety, and environmental stewardship.
