Munich, Germany, July 2026 – Personio has appointed Philipp Richter as its Chief People Officer, elevating a long-serving leader who has played a significant role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and organizational growth over the past six years.
In his new role, Richter will lead Personio’s global people strategy, overseeing talent management, workforce planning, organizational development, leadership capability building, employee experience, and people transformation initiatives. He will also be responsible for helping the organization navigate the evolving impact of artificial intelligence on workforce models, talent development, management practices, and HR operations.
Richter has been associated with Personio since 2020, most recently serving as Chief of Staff, where he worked closely with the executive leadership team on strategic initiatives, business operations, organizational priorities, and company-wide transformation programs. Since 2023, he has also served as Managing Director of the Personio Foundation, leading initiatives focused on creating positive social impact while strengthening relationships with HR leaders and organizations across Europe.
Before joining Personio, Richter worked as a Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising organizations on strategy, business transformation, and operational excellence. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Consultant at Deloitte’s Analytics Institute, where he focused on analytics-driven business transformation and strategic initiatives. He began his professional journey through an international management trainee program with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, gaining exposure across Germany and the United States.
The appointment comes as organizations across Europe increasingly adapt to the growing influence of artificial intelligence on business operations and workforce management. Personio indicated that its own people organization will serve as an internal testing ground for AI-driven workforce transformation initiatives, enabling the company to develop practical insights and guidance for HR leaders navigating similar challenges.
As Chief People Officer, Richter will play a central role in shaping Personio’s future workforce strategy while supporting the company’s continued growth and innovation agenda.
