Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, March 2026 — Phantom FX has appointed Naveen Kumar as Head of Production (South). Based in Chennai, Kumar will lead production delivery across Phantom FX’s southern operations, strengthening show execution, delivery governance, and client collaboration as the studio continues to scale its work across domestic and international VFX projects.
In this role, Kumar will be responsible for end-to-end production oversight—from planning and budgeting through to final delivery—ensuring schedules, resources, and milestones are aligned with creative and client requirements. His experience in production management, bidding oversight, workflow governance, and cross-functional coordination positions him to drive consistent delivery performance across a high-volume, deadline-led environment.
Kumar has been associated with Phantom FX for over five years, steadily progressing through production leadership roles. Most recently, he has served as Associate Project Manager (August 2023 to March 2026), where he managed VFX workflow processes from production to final delivery, partnered with finance and production leadership to build show schedules, supported contract vetting and milestone governance, and served as a key liaison between client production teams and Phantom FX production units. He also oversaw resource allocation, monitored budget and schedule performance, and published delivery reports to leadership.
Prior to that, he worked as a VFX Producer (August 2022 to August 2023), overseeing vendor coordination, review sessions with stakeholders, client communication, and budget and schedule tracking to ensure projects were completed within agreed parameters.
Earlier, he served as VFX Senior Line Producer (March 2021 to August 2022) in Chennai, where he managed day-to-day planning, weekly scheduling, bid changes, and supervisor coordination to deliver high creative standards on time and within budget.
Before joining Phantom FX, Kumar worked at FutureWorks Media Limited as a VFX Producer (February 2019 to February 2021) in Chennai, where he handled bidding, milestones, pipeline adherence, bid-versus-actual analysis, resource planning, client liaison, invoice scheduling, and project status reporting.
He began his production journey as a VFX Line Producer at Phantom-FX (February 2016 to November 2018) in the Chennai area, managing schedules, workflow across departments, client deliveries, dailies coordination, production database accuracy, and on-ground execution support. Earlier roles include VFX Production Coordinator assignments (2013 to 2016) and foundational creative experience as a VFX Compositor across studios including EFX, Seven Crest Communication Pvt. Ltd., and Digital Magic Visuals (I) Ltd.
