Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2026 – Piyush Verma has joined Lok Capital as Managing Director, marking a significant addition to the leadership team of one of India’s leading impact investment platforms.
Commenting on his new role, Piyush shared, “We’re at a pivotal moment in India’s growth cycle. The next decade will belong to disciplined capital and ambitious operators building high-quality, scalable businesses. I’m excited to work closely with founders and management teams shaping that future.”
At Lok Capital, he will focus on partnering with founders and management teams to build scalable, high-impact businesses across sectors including financial services, healthcare, food & agri, and climate & sustainability. The firm invests in Series A+ ventures leveraging technology to deliver affordable, accessible, and sustainable solutions while maintaining a strong discipline on generating above-market returns.
Prior to this, Piyush served as Investment Director at Phi Capital, a sector-agnostic growth capital fund with over USD 500 million in assets under management. There, he supported high-growth Indian businesses backed by deep industry expertise and prominent advisory collaboration from leaders such as Anand Mahindra and M.M. Murugappan.
Earlier in his journey, he was Interim CIO at Theia Ventures, a climate and sustainable industry-focused venture fund, and Co-Founder of Chew Central, a vertical e-commerce venture in the Indian pet care industry that introduced high-quality global products to Indian consumers. He also spent over eight years as Principal at Lighthouse Funds, contributing to growth equity investments across sectors.
With a strong background in growth capital, climate-focused investing, and entrepreneurial leadership, Piyush brings a unique blend of investment rigor and operator empathy to his new role at Lok Capital.
