Washington, D.C., United States, November 2025 – ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership has announced the appointment of Quanita Pokolo-Hassell as Vice President, Human Resources. In this new role, Quanita will oversee ASAE’s people strategy, organizational development, and employee engagement programs, supporting the association’s mission to empower organizations that transform society through collaboration, knowledge, and leadership.

Before joining ASAE, Quanita served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources at ACDI/VOCA, where she was a key member of the executive management team. Reporting directly to the President, she led enterprise-wide HR strategy, driving organizational growth, talent development, and culture transformation. During her decade-long tenure with ACDI/VOCA, she held multiple senior roles including Senior Vice President, Vice President, and Senior Director of Human Resources, spearheading initiatives that strengthened global people operations and aligned HR frameworks with strategic goals.

In addition to her executive role, Quanita also continues to serve as a Board Member at ACDI/VOCA, providing strategic advisory guidance to leadership on governance, sustainability, and talent strategy.

Earlier in her career, she spent nearly five years with the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) as Senior Manager, Human Resources, where she led global HR functions supporting research and advocacy teams worldwide. Her earlier tenure at NIH Federal Credit Union, spanning 16 years, saw her progress from HR Representative to HR Manager, where she managed employee relations, performance systems, and compliance programs that enhanced operational excellence.

Quanita began her career at Standard Technology Inc. as a Human Resources Administrator, where she developed a foundational understanding of workforce management and policy development that shaped her leadership journey.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership.
