Ontario, Canada – Rachael Andrews is set to begin her new role as Director of Human Resources and Office Operations at the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC). With an extensive background spanning over two decades in various human resources and communications roles, Andrews is well-prepared to steer the HR initiatives at TIAC amidst the dynamic and evolving landscape of Canada’s tourism industry.
Prior to her current role, Andrews was a key figure at Scotiabank, where she most recently served as Senior Manager, Learning and Communications from May 2020 to May 2024. In this position, she led both the Training and Communications Teams to support approximately 700 employees in navigating the challenges of financial service environments during critical periods.
From June 2017 to May 2020, Andrews held the role of Senior Manager, Employee Engagement at Scotiabank’s Toronto office. Here, she was instrumental in implementing employee engagement strategies and diversity programs for around 5,000 global operations employees, which were crucial in fostering a productive and inclusive workplace culture.
Additionally, she was involved in strategic HR and product management roles focusing on payment solutions in the Caribbean region through her position as Senior Manager, Payment Products at Scotiabank from August 2014 to June 2017. This role had her overseeing significant product launches and managing high-stake partnerships and marketing strategies.
Earlier Experiences
Andrews’ career trajectory also includes significant tenures at TD and Bank of America, where she developed and managed customer service strategies and communications for major banking products and services. Her early roles involved operational management at Best Buy and training at Rogers Communications, which provided her with a solid foundation in customer service and operational efficiency.
