Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States, March 2025 – Alliance Physical Therapy Partners has appointed Rachel Smith as Vice President of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the CEO, she will lead the HR function and strategy across the organization’s 130+ locations and 1,500 employees nationwide. With a career spanning over two decades, Rachel brings deep expertise in HR leadership, talent development, M&A integration, and organizational transformation.
Prior to joining Alliance, Rachel was Human Resources Director – HR Operations & M&A at Atmus Filtration Technologies, where she played a key role in HR business partnering, talent acquisition, payroll, compliance, and process optimization during Atmus’ transition into an independent publicly traded company. Before that, she spent over 16 years at Cummins Inc., holding progressively senior HR leadership roles, including Director of Human Resources for Functions & Regions, where she was responsible for HR strategy, global workforce planning, and business transformations.
Earlier in her career, she served as Director of HR at Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies, where she built HR services from the ground up for a joint venture. She also held executive recruitment and HR generalist roles at firms such as Gilman Partners, Sterling Medical, and Baker Parker & Associates, honing her expertise in talent acquisition, organizational leadership, and strategic HR planning.
Rachel holds extensive experience in HR operations, employee engagement, compliance, and HR digital transformation, making her a valuable addition to Alliance Physical Therapy Partners as it continues to expand its footprint in the healthcare sector.
