Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 – Raj Balaji has commenced a new leadership role as Chief Business Officer at Aknamed (API Holdings). In this position, he is steering one of India’s largest oncology and specialty medicine fulfillment platforms. Leveraging advanced technology and first-principle thinking, Raj is working to streamline procurement and supply chain visibility across major hospitals—currently driving over $100M in revenue through reliable and efficient delivery of critical care medications.
Before his transition to Aknamed, Raj Balaji spent over seven years at Ninjacart, where he most recently served as Director – Farmer Ecosystem. His work there focused on strengthening India’s agricultural value chain through strategic initiatives like farm credit systems, post-harvest solutions, and agri-tech product innovations, impacting profitability and resilience for stakeholders from farmers to millers.
Prior to this, he was Associate Director at Emerging Trends and earlier held several senior positions within Ninjacart’s sourcing function, where he led efforts to directly connect farmers to retailers and scale the integrated supply chain across cities like Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. These efforts significantly improved the speed, cost-efficiency, and transparency of India’s fresh produce logistics network.
Earlier in his career, Raj held key commercial roles including Market Manager at XSEED Education, where he led regional education transformation initiatives; Assistant Manager and Account Manager at HCL Technologies, where he built enterprise SaaS and engineering business across Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka; and Area Sales Manager at Panasonic, where he managed large sales portfolios in Madhya Pradesh.
