Mumbai, India — Rajiv Banerjee has embarked on a new journey as the Head of Communications for India & South Asia at Standard Chartered Bank. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades in corporate communications, Banerjee is set to enhance the bank’s communication strategies across the Indian subcontinent.
Prior to this role, Banerjee served as the Group Head of Corporate Communications at Piramal Enterprises Limited, where he honed his expertise in public policy and content strategy. His tenure at Piramal was marked by significant contributions to the company’s strategic communication efforts.
Before Piramal, Banerjee was deeply involved with HDFC Bank, where he led as the Senior Vice President & Vertical Head of Corporate Communications until January 2022. His extensive stint at HDFC Bank, starting as Deputy Vice President in February 2012, saw him ascend through various leadership roles, significantly shaping the bank’s public relations and communications landscape.
Banerjee’s earlier roles include his time as Editor for Brand Equity at The Economic Times, where he provided keen insights into marketing trends within FMCG, consumer durable, and retail sectors. His foundation in strategic communications was built on experiences at organizations such as Financial Express and NetScribes, where he developed a robust skill set in business writing and content management.
