Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, June 2026 — Rakesh Prasad has joined Tata Elxsi as Head of Talent Acquisition. In his new role, he will lead enterprise-wide talent acquisition across the company’s Engineering R&D and Design & Technology business units, driving hiring strategies for specialized engineering and design talent, strengthening sourcing capabilities, and scaling the talent acquisition function to support Tata Elxsi’s expanding global delivery footprint.
Prior to joining Tata Elxsi, Prasad spent nearly two years with Tech Mahindra, where he most recently served as General Manager, following his role as Director – Talent Acquisition. He led talent acquisition for the Silicon (VLSI), Digital Enterprise Applications, and Diversified Industrial Group business units, overseeing recruitment for more than 3,200 annual requisitions and successfully delivering over 1,750 hires across niche technology, leadership, and strategic skill areas. During his tenure, he improved offer acceptance rates, reduced time-to-fill, strengthened hiring governance, and led a team of over 80 talent acquisition professionals supporting business growth across semiconductor, enterprise applications, digital transformation, and industrial technology.
Earlier, he served as Group Manager – Talent Acquisition at L&T Technology Services Limited, where he led recruitment for Digital Product Services, Metaverse, Hi-Tech & Media, and VLSI businesses. He played a significant role in scaling recruitment operations, supporting rapid business growth, hiring more than 1,350 professionals, and contributing to organizational initiatives related to performance management and leadership development.
Before LTTS, Prasad spent more than eleven years with KPIT, serving as Senior Manager – Corporate Talent Acquisition Group & Campus Recruitment. During this period, he led strategic hiring initiatives for major client accounts, managed large-scale campus recruitment programs, supported mergers and demergers, implemented data-driven talent acquisition practices, and strengthened collaboration between HR and business leadership.
He began his leadership journey with Cusat Technologies Pvt. Ltd. as Senior Staffing Manager, where he established recruitment operations, built high-performing recruitment teams, strengthened client relationships, and contributed to significant business growth through strategic talent acquisition initiatives.
With over 20 years of experience in talent acquisition, strategic workforce planning, campus hiring, technology recruitment, employer branding, recruitment transformation, and leadership hiring, Prasad brings deep expertise in building scalable talent organizations across engineering, digital technologies, semiconductor, automotive, and product engineering domains.
