Portland, Oregon, United States, December 2025 – Ryan Cloward has been appointed as Vice President of Operations – Portland Division at Albertsons Companies, taking charge of one of the organisation’s most strategically significant regional businesses. In this role, he will lead operational excellence, regional retail performance, customer experience enhancement, and store network productivity across the Portland Division, strengthening Albertsons’ execution capability and growth momentum in the Pacific Northwest.
Prior to his current appointment, Ryan Cloward served as Vice President of Retail Operations – Seattle Division at Albertsons Companies, where he led multi-district operations, elevated merchandising execution, and strengthened leadership capability across one of the company’s highest-volume divisions. His tenure was marked by consistent performance delivery, disciplined execution, and frontline leadership development.
Earlier, he held the position of Vice President of Operations at Haggen, Inc., where he guided regional growth, store operations, and performance transformation initiatives, driving operational consistency and building strong retail leadership cultures across Washington state.
Ryan also played a critical leadership role during the Albertsons–Safeway merger as Integration Leader, overseeing large-scale transformation programs and regional execution integration. He previously served as District Manager, leading multi-store P&L ownership, merchandising excellence, and people development across Seattle and Portland markets.
Before returning to Albertsons, Ryan strengthened his enterprise transformation expertise at SUPERVALU, holding leadership roles including Area Director of Operations, Six Sigma Deployment Leader, and Black Belt, where he drove productivity improvement, process excellence, and performance transformation across multiple regions. His foundational retail journey began at Albertsons, progressing through store leadership roles to Store Director, building deep operational roots and frontline credibility.
