New Delhi, India, May 2026 – Hero MotoCorp has appointed Sachin Agrawal as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), marking a significant leadership move as the company accelerates its technology and R&D transformation journey. He succeeds Vikram Kasbekar in this role and will lead innovation across the company’s global R&D ecosystem, including its centres in India and Germany.
With nearly three decades of experience in automotive R&D and technology leadership, Sachin Agrawal is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening Hero MotoCorp’s capabilities in next-generation mobility, product innovation, and engineering excellence.
Sachin Agrawal joins Hero MotoCorp from VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., where he spent over 14 years in progressive leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President & Head of R&D and Technology, leading large-scale innovation programs and driving technology strategy across the organization. Prior to this, he held roles such as Executive Vice President – Technology and Senior Vice President – R&D and Technology, where he was instrumental in advancing product development and engineering capabilities.
Earlier in his career at VE Commercial Vehicles, he served as Vice President – Product Development, where he led the design and development of complete powertrains, including engines, drivelines, and electrical/electronic systems for commercial vehicles across a wide range of tonnage. He also played a key role in developing Volvo medium-duty engine platforms in India, managing teams of over 150 engineers.
Before that, he spent over a decade with Eicher Trucks and Buses as General Manager – Product Development, contributing to core engineering and product innovation initiatives.
He began his career with Daewoo Motors India Limited as a Senior Engineer, building foundational expertise in automotive engineering and product development.
In addition to his corporate roles, he currently serves as Co-Chairman of the Emission & Conservation Group at Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, contributing to industry-level policy and sustainability initiatives.
Sachin holds an M.Tech in Design Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
