Sam Horsefield Appointed as Executive Vice President & Head of Talent Acquisition at Mashreq

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 2026 — Mashreq has announced the appointment of Sam Horsefield as Executive Vice President & Head of Talent Acquisition, marking a significant leadership addition within the bank’s People & Intellectual Capital Group. In his new role, Sam will lead Mashreq’s global talent acquisition strategy, playing a pivotal role in attracting, sustaining, and developing world-class talent while strengthening Mashreq’s employer brand across international markets.

Sam’s leadership will directly support Mashreq’s strategic priorities, including innovation, technology adoption, and process enhancements, ensuring the bank continues to build a future-ready workforce aligned with its long-term growth agenda.

Before joining Mashreq, Sam Horsefield served as Global Head of Recruitment at Met T&S (Maire Tecnimont Group), where he managed global recruitment strategy across multiple countries, enabling delivery of complex engineering and energy projects worldwide.

Earlier, he was Head of Talent Acquisition at Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy companies. At Masdar, Sam led global recruitment transformation initiatives, automated recruitment platforms, and strengthened employer branding to position the company as an Employer of Choice.

Prior to this, Sam spent over five years with HSBC, where he held senior leadership roles including Talent Acquisition Director for MENA and Talent Acquisition Director for the UK, Channel Islands & Switzerland, overseeing large regional and international recruitment operations.

He also served as Operations Director – Recruitment at First Gulf Bank (now FAB), where he led recruitment transformation programs, significantly reduced agency dependence, implemented ATS automation, and supported Emiratisation initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Sam held senior recruitment leadership roles at Britvic Soft Drinks, leading recruitment across the UK and Ireland business units.

Sam holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics & Finance from Loughborough University.
