With over 24 years of experience in enterprise SaaS, technology sales, and business leadership, Akshay Murthy brings extensive expertise in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and digital transformation. Announcing his new role, he highlighted the accelerating adoption of AI in HR across Indian enterprises and expressed his commitment to helping organisations transition from legacy HR systems to AI-native platforms capable of supporting long-term business growth.
Before joining Darwinbox, Murthy spent more than seven years at Salesforce, where he held several senior leadership positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as Commercial Leader – South Asia, following successful tenures as Regional Vice President of Sales, Regional Sales Director, and Director – Sales, Large Enterprise. During this period, he led high-performing sales organisations, built and mentored top-performing teams, developed regional go-to-market strategies, strengthened C-suite relationships, and helped enterprise customers accelerate their Data & AI transformation initiatives while delivering measurable business outcomes.
Earlier in his career, Murthy held leadership roles at Oracle, IBM, Subex Ltd, Tejas Networks, Eastern Telecoms, Olam International, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). His experience spans enterprise software, cloud technologies, telecommunications, international business, consulting, and software engineering, giving him a well-rounded understanding of both technology innovation and customer success across diverse industries. He further strengthened his leadership capabilities by earning an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, complementing his extensive experience in enterprise technology and strategic business development.
As Vice President and Country Head – India, Murthy is expected to play a pivotal role in expanding Darwinbox’s presence in one of its fastest-growing markets while enabling Indian enterprises to leverage AI-native HR technology for improved employee experiences, operational efficiency, and organisational agility.
