Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 – Equirus Group, one of India’s leading full-service financial services firms, has announced the appointment of Sandeep Walunj as Chief Growth Officer, strengthening its leadership team to drive integrated growth, brand leadership and institutionalisation of its “One Equirus” vision across the Group.
In his new role, Sandeep Walunj will lead the institutionalisation of group-wide processes, behaviours, identity and communications to accelerate business growth, enhance brand equity and strengthen market leadership across Equirus’ diversified financial services platforms.
Prior to joining Equirus, Sandeep Walunj served as Executive Director and Group Chief Marketing Officer at Motilal Oswal Financial Services, where he led group-wide marketing, brand and growth strategy across multiple financial verticals.
Earlier, he spent over eight years at Nippon India Mutual Fund as Chief Marketing Officer and Member – AMFI FLC, driving growth strategies, performance marketing, brand leadership and large-scale investor education initiatives.
He has also held senior leadership roles as EVP & CMO at Magma Fincorp, CMO – Value Retail (Big Bazaar) at Future Group, Vice President – Marketing Innovation at PepsiCo, and Head of Non-Alcoholic Business at Heineken (Middle East), building iconic brands and leading transformational growth programs across FMCG, retail and financial services sectors. His early career includes leadership roles with Reckitt Benckiser, Royal FrieslandCampina and Wipro Consumer Care.
He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
