Kolkata, West Bengal, India, April 2026 — Sanku Bose has taken charge as the Vice Chancellor of Amity University Kolkata. His appointment marks a significant academic leadership move for the institution as it continues to strengthen its vision of delivering globally benchmarked, research-oriented, and employment-focused education. With a career spanning academia, research, consulting, technology leadership, and education management, he brings a rare combination of scholarly depth and corporate experience to this role.
Before this development, Sanku Bose has been serving as Vice Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University (SNU), while also holding the position of Group Chief Executive Officer at Techno India Group (TIG), one of Eastern India’s major education ecosystems. In these roles, he has focused on academic excellence, future-ready programs, strategy, growth, and international partnerships across education, healthcare, and innovation. His parallel experience in both academic and institutional leadership reflects a strong ability to bridge academic vision with organizational execution.
Earlier in his leadership journey, he served as President & CEO of JK Technosoft Limited, where he led global digital transformation initiatives under the JK Group. Prior to that, he was Vice President – Consulting & System/Integration Business Leader – Enterprise Applications (North America) at Atos, where he led the North American enterprise applications practice with a focus on digital transformation, high-value deal structuring, and strategic partnerships. These assignments further strengthened his profile as a leader capable of driving transformation across large and complex organizations.
Before Atos, Sanku Bose served as Vice President, Global Head ERP Practice at ITC Infotech, where he led the global ERP practice across major enterprise platforms and delivered large-scale transformation programs for international clients. Prior to that, he held the role of Senior Managing Principal at BearingPoint Inc, leading management and technology consulting across different business lines and global business transformation engagements. He also served as Global Technology Lead at a global chemical company and earlier as Principal Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, building deep expertise in enterprise systems, consulting, transformation, and technology-led business change.
His earlier academic and research journey included roles as Research Engineer/Doctoral Fellow at the University of Bonn, Assistant Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, and Senior Scientific Officer at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. These assignments highlight the strong academic foundation on which his later corporate and institutional leadership journey has been built. Across more than three decades, he has blended academia and industry in a way that few leaders do, bringing together knowledge, innovation, execution, and long-term educational vision.
Sanku Bose holds a Ph.D. in AI & Robotics and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. His academic background, combined with his broad global experience across higher education and industry, positions him well to lead Amity University Kolkata in its next phase of growth and academic distinction.
