Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, August 2026 — SAP has appointed Shweta Mohanty as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Business Partnering – Corporate Functions, marking a significant leadership elevation during her nearly 11-year journey with SAP. Mohanty brings more than 25 years of human resources experience, spanning global HR business partnering, people and culture, talent strategy, organizational development, transformation and leadership development.
Prior to taking on her new global mandate, Mohanty served as Head of People & Culture, SAP in India, a position she has held since April 2022. Earlier, she was Vice President – Global HR Business Partner for Enterprise Cloud Services and SAP Labs Network, where she led talent strategy for Enterprise Cloud Services and supported the SAP Labs Network, comprising major R&D centers across the world. She also represented her board area within the APJ leadership structure.
Mohanty joined SAP in November 2015 as Director of Human Resources and subsequently served as Director – Human Resources/Global HR Business Partner. During her earlier SAP assignments, she worked on talent strategies for global organizations spanning multiple countries and contributed to initiatives around early-career talent, continuous learning and employee development. Her work included programs such as Teach Hub, early talent stretch assignments and SAP’s entrepreneurial sabbatical initiative.
Before SAP, Mohanty spent nearly eight years with Microsoft India Development Center in Bengaluru. She served as Senior Human Resources Manager & Lead – India Development Center, Bangalore, leading HR for the R&D organization and supporting talent strategy, organizational development, leadership development and organizational change. She also played a key people-transition role for the Microsoft-Yahoo Alliance in India, supporting the transition and integration of employees, and earlier managed HR for Microsoft Research Lab India.
Mohanty began her career with Wipro Technologies, where she spent more than six years across strategic resourcing and HR leadership roles. As Senior HR Manager – Telecom Engineering Solutions, she handled HR responsibilities for a business unit of approximately 2,500 employees and worked across performance management, succession planning, rewards and recognition, organizational development and employee engagement. Her progression from Wipro to Microsoft and then SAP has given her extensive experience across large-scale technology and R&D organizations, positioning her for an expanded global leadership mandate at SAP.
