Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, June 2026 — The Standard India has appointed Santosh Varier as Head of Administration, entrusting him with leading the organization’s administration function as it continues to strengthen its technology-enabled support for The Standard’s global operations. Bringing more than 22 years of experience in corporate administration, facilities management, workplace strategy, procurement, operational governance, and infrastructure management, Santosh joins the company with an extensive track record of building efficient, compliant, and scalable workplace operations across global organizations.
Prior to joining The Standard India, Santosh Varier served as Head of Administration at Mashreq, where he was responsible for enterprise-wide administration across the bank’s global network spanning India, Pakistan, and Egypt. In this role, he led strategic planning, operational governance, facilities management, global travel operations, vendor ecosystems, workplace safety, statutory compliance, budgeting, procurement, and administrative transformation initiatives. He also drove process re-engineering, automation, digitalization, and cost optimization while overseeing governance frameworks that supported business growth across multiple geographies.
Before Mashreq, Santosh briefly served as Facilities Manager at WestBridge Capital following an extensive nine-year career at Swiss Re. At Swiss Re, he most recently held the position of Head, Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES), Bangalore, leading workplace strategy, facilities operations, environmental initiatives, procurement, communications, infrastructure projects, budget management, and operational excellence. Earlier, as Assistant Vice President, he managed strategic procurement, workplace transformation, infrastructure management, sustainability initiatives, vendor governance, internal controls, and enterprise-wide operational frameworks that supported the company’s India operations.
Earlier in his career, Santosh held senior facilities leadership roles with CBRE Asia Pacific and Infosys Ltd, where he managed large-scale corporate facilities, workplace infrastructure, vendor management, statutory compliance, health and safety programs, audits, asset management, project execution, and employee workplace services. His experience also includes operational leadership positions with Global Franchise Architects, Orange County Resorts & Hotels Ltd, and Sealord Group of Hotels, providing him with a strong operational foundation across hospitality, corporate services, and enterprise administration.
Throughout his career, Santosh has consistently demonstrated expertise in administration leadership, facilities operations, procurement, workplace strategy, vendor governance, compliance, operational excellence, and business transformation.
