Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, December 2025 – Satyajit Medappa has begun a new leadership chapter as the Head of Wealth Management at Sundaram Finance, one of India’s most trusted financial services institutions with a six-decade legacy. In his new role, he will steer the company’s wealth management vision, strengthen strategic client portfolios, and contribute to the organisation’s continued growth across the financial services landscape.
Before joining Sundaram Finance, Satyajit Medappa served at Royal Sundaram General Insurance Co. Limited for nearly seven years, most recently as the Chief People Officer, where he led people strategy, organisational development, and talent leadership. Prior to this, he contributed as the Head of Human Resources, helping shape HR systems and people practices that supported Royal Sundaram’s business transformation and employee experience.
Earlier, he was part of BankBazaar.com as Associate Vice President – HR Business Partner, supporting large-scale HR operations and partnering closely with business leaders to drive organisational effectiveness. His role enabled him to contribute to the people strategy of a rapidly scaling digital financial services organisation.
Prior to that, he spent six impactful years at Sundaram Asset Management Company Limited as Senior Assistant Vice President and Head – Human Resources, where he led performance management, employee engagement, training, HR policy formulation, and people development. His journey also included leading banking relationships at Sundaram AMC, where he managed partnerships with major public and private sector banks and helped drive business expansion.
In the earlier years of his career, Satyajit Medappa held diverse leadership roles across industries, including Brand Manager at Isex Fashions Pvt. Ltd., Quality Coordinator at South India Corporation Agencies Limited, and Manager – Sales at India Pistons Ltd. These roles strengthened his expertise in sales, marketing, quality systems, and customer engagement, building a strong foundation for his later leadership contributions. He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from XLRI Jamshedpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing & Sales from National Institute of Sales.
